ELIZABETH TOWERY
Guntown - Elizabeth Towery, 86, died at home Thursday, March 10, 2011, after a lengthy illness. She was born August 7, 1924 to Daniel L. and Cynthia Ann Stout Henderson. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Saltillo. After she could no longer attend services, she was blessed to have the care and support of a group of loyal friends.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 13, 2011, at the Saltillo Chapel of W. E. Pegues, with Bro. Marvin Murphy and Mr. Sammy Lansdell officiating. Burial will be in the Saltillo Cemetery.
She is Survived by two daughters, Polly Phillips of Guntown, and Peggy Towery of Nashville, Tenn.; three granddaughters, Melanie Adams of Saltillo, Michelle Towery of Nashville, Tenn., and Suzanne Dugger of Baldwyn; one grandson, Michael Towery of Nashville, Tenn.; one great-grandson, James Goodin of Guntown; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Deach Towery of Guntown; one son, Paul Towery of Nashville, Tenn.; and one daughter, Patsy Towery of Guntown.
Pallbearers will be Bill Mears, Tony Mears, Kevin Jaggers, Jerry Henderson, Milton Green and Kelton Adams.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Mack Towery and Lynn Powell.
Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2011 at the Saltillo Funeral Home.
