Elizabeth "Bette" Hutchins Carlisle, 80, died Tuesday, December 25, 2018, at Sanctuary Hospice House. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia September 14, 1938, to Judson Hillyer and Jane Eugenia Barnes Hutchins. She was a 1956 graduate of Murphy High School. She was a certified dental assistant having graduated from the Emory University School of Dentistry certification program in nine months. From 1955 until 1962, she sang with the Atlanta Symphony Chorus. In 1962, she married Franklin Owen Carlisle, Jr. of Tupelo.
Survivors include two daughters, Anne Johnson and Emily Long; five grandchildren, Brain Goff, Brittany Buckles, Mary Goff, Reece Long and Joseph Reynolds; and one great-granddaughter, Luna Buckles.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband of 42 years, Franklin Owen Carlisle, Jr.
Visitation will be from until 1 until 2 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2018 at W.E. Pegues, Tupelo.
Graveside services will be 2:15 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2018 at Tupelo Memorial Park with reflections of her life given by her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, she had asked donations to be made to Sanctuary Hospice House, PO Box 2177 Tupelo, MS 38803.
