Tupelo - Elizabeth Eloise Evans, 95, died Saturday, July 7, 2012, at Avonlea Assisted Living. A Newbern native, she was born March 25, 1917 to Mr. Homer B. Pope and Mrs. Emma Lancaster. She loved working puzzells, playing card games, crocheting, and making baby blankets. She was also an avid NASCAR and golf fan. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Tupelo. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday, June 9, 2012 at Jefferson Street Chapel with Rev. Bob O'Neal officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery near Newbern, Tennessee. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include her two sons, Eddie Evans and Charles "Captain Charlie" Watts both of Tupelo; two daughters, Betty Adderholt of Birmingham, Alabama and Pat Evans Mitchell of Plantersville. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Homer B. Pope and Mrs. Emma Lancaster. Honorary pallbearers will be Joseph Evans, Nathaniel Coleman, Robert M. Woods, Stewart W.
