Tupelo - Elisabeth "Liz" McClung, 59, died Thursday, April 10, 2008, at her residence in Tupelo after a sudden illness. She was born September 8, 1948 in Kitzingen, West Germany to the late Friedrich and Meta Dorethea Goetz Bischoff and was the widow of the late Junior David McClung, who died May 15, 1993. She was a long-time medical assistant to Dr. Luther Stumme and was currently with Digestive Health Group. She also found time to travel extensively to numerous destinations including Europe, Asia, Mexico and the Caribbean and was very active in the local German Club in which its members are decendants of Germany. A member of St. James Catholic Church, she enjoyed gardening and especially caring for her grandson.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, April 14, 2008 at St. James Catholic Church with
Father Tom Lalor officiating. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her son, Michael D. McClung, of Memphis, TN; one grandchild, Tate McClung of Amory; two sisters, Brigitte Landis of Lawton, OK and Jutta Burgraff of Kitzingen, Germany; one brother, Rolf Bischoff of Albertshofen, Germany.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, April 13, 2008 at the funeral home.
