ELENA FLOYD
Tupelo - Elena Sandra Floyd, 68, passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2017, at North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born in Wichita, Kansas on September 4, 1948, to Conrado and Joan Frey Aguirre. In 1963, she moved to Tupelo and graduated from Tupelo High School in the class of 1966. For over 30 years, Elena was a shipping clerk at Hunter Douglas. She enjoyed knitting and spoiling her children and grandchildren. Elena loved being surrounded by her family. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church.
Survivors include her mother, Joan Aguirre of Saltillo; daughters, Sunnie Parmer (Mike) of Tupelo, Shannon Drummond (Bill) of Tupelo, Mary-Elizabeth Bishop (Mark) of Saltillo and Katy Irwin (Kyle) of Saltillo; grandchildren, Nikki Parmer of Tupelo, William Drummond of Tupelo, Paden Whiteside of Tupelo, Reese Whiteside of Tupelo, Logan Bishop of Saltillo and Sadie Irwin of Saltillo; great-grandchildren, Stormi Brown and Sky Gilland; brothers, Bart Aguirre (Patty) of Saltillo and Philip Aguirre (Barbara) of Tupelo and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Conrado Aguirre.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday, July 7, 2017, at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo with a rosary service to follow.
Funeral mass will be 1 p.m. Saturday, July 8, 2017, at St. James Catholic Church with Father Lincoln Dall officiating. Graveside services will follow in Tupelo Memorial Park. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Mike Parmer, Bill Drummond, Mark Bishop, Kyle Irwin, William Drummond and Jonathan Aguirre.
Honorary pallbearers will be Paden Whiteside, Logan Bishop, Shane Aguirre and Joey Aguirre.
