Eleanor Weatherford

December 5, 1921 — September 15, 2007

TUPELO - Mary Eleanor Smith Weatherford, 85, died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007, at The Sanctuary Hospice House after a brief illness. A Booneville native, she was born to the late Walter Williams and Mary Virginia Sanford Smith. She was a member of the St. Luke United Methodist Church. She was a retired teacher graduating from Mississippi State College for Women in 1943 in home economics, a member of Phi Upsilion Omicron Honorary Academic Society.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with the Rev. Mike Hicks officiating. Burial will be in the Booneville City Cemetery.

Survivors include one son Dwight Weatherford and his wife, Lynda, of Flowood; one sister Virginia Belle Smitherman of Booneville; two grandchildren, Christal Warren and her husband, Bill, and Duane Weatherford; and two great grandchildren, Brandt Warren and Brynn Warren.

She was preceded in death by her parents ,and her husband of 54 years, Archie Weatherford.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Sanctuary Hospice House, PO Box 2177, Tupelo, MS 38803.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
