ELAINE BUTLER GILLENTINE Nettleton - Elaine Dean Butler Gillentine, passed away Friday, December 19, 2014, at North Mississippi Medical Center, Hospice Unit after an extended illness. She was born on September 10, 1933, to Robert Lee and Velma Harrison Dean. She was a wonderful person, loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of Calvary Assembly. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, December 22, 2014 at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Ben Raper officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include her husband, Earl Gillentine of Nettleton; two children, John Butler (Margaret) of Fulton, Martha Kay Garner (Dennis) of Smithville; two grandchildren, Brad Garner (Stephanie) of Smithville, Chad Garner (Megan) of Tupelo; four great-grandchildren, Landen and Wren Garner and Raylee Quinn and Addilyn Mae Garner ; two step-children, Rodney Gillentine (Candy) and David Gillentine both of Nettleton; two sisters, Eloise Jones and Mary Reeves (Jimmy); five brothers, Bud, Bobby, Doug (Doris), Lewis, Roger Dean (Glenda) and a host of other relatives. She was preceded in death by her first husband, James E. Butler on March 14, 1983; one son, Robert Butler in April 19, 1988; one step-daughter, Martha Pearl Layton; one sister, Georgia Whiteside; one brother, Bill Dean; step-daughter-in-law, Linda Gillentine. Pallbearers will be Brad and Chad Garner, Cody, Ryan, Dylan and Rodney Gillentine and Kevin Layton. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Sunday, December 21, 2014 at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.
