TUPELO - Effie Mae Anderson, 87, died Saturday, Dec. 10, 2005, at her home in Tupelo after a long illness. She was born Feb. 3, 1918, in Verona to James Brooks Irby and Stella Miles Irby. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Bissell Baptist Church and Harrisburg Baptist Church, where she received a Perfect Attendance Award for faith attendance at Sunday school for 32 years. She enjoyed art, needlecrafts, making dolls, gardening and singing.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues. The Rev. Adron Horne will officiate, and the Rev. David Langerfeld will assist. Burial will be in White Zion Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Charles Anderson of Tupelo; two daughters, Janette Maharrey of St. Louis, Mo., and Mary Jane Millwood of Port Arthur, Texas; one sister, Ora Lee Barnes of Indiana; two grandchildren, Robert Charles Maharrey of Birmingham, Ala., and Phillip Charles Millwood of Port Arthur, Texas; two great-grandchildren, Keller Charles Maharrey and MacCellan Dodd Maharrey.

Pallbearers will be Robert C. Maharrey, Phillip C. Millwood, Mark Maharrey, Mike Maharrey, Ben Burleson and Thomas Anderson.
