EDYTHE HARBEN MEEK
Saltillo, Mississippi - Edythe Harben Meek, 86, died Saturday, November 4, 2006 at Homeplace Assisted Living in Saltillo. She was born July 9, 1920 in Tomotla, North Carolina to the late Dewey and Lee Ellen Wells Harben. She was a graduate of the Ft. Sanders Hospital School of Nursing in Knoxville, Tennessee and worked as a registered nurse during her younger years. She was formerly of Corryton, Tennessee, and was married to the late T. Edward Meek who preceded her in death September 15, 1983. She was a long time member of the Hopewell United Methodist Church, 9300 Millertown Pike, in Mascot, Tennessee.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Hopewell United Methodist Church in Mascot with Rev. Brenda Woods officiating. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors in Tupelo, Mississippi is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include one daughter, Charlotte Wilburn and her husband, Dr. Frank Wilburn of Saltillo; one son, Tom Meek and his wife, Genny, of Rapidan, Virginia; three grandchildren, Chris Wilburn and his wife, Betsy, of Macon, Georgia, Natalie Wilburn of Washington, D. C. and Jim Meek; great grandchildren, Hunter and Landon Wilburn.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
