TUPELO Edward Thornhill, 56, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2007, at his residence in the Auburn community after a sudden illness. A Winter Haven, Florida native, he was born July 25, 1951, to the late Columbus Lafayette and Alice Jeanette Eason Thornhill. He was a veteran having served in the United States Air Force and the Florida Army National Guard. He was a computer programmer with Metalloy and later with Sunshine Mills. He loved hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
A state room service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at W. E. Pegues in Tupelo with the Rev. Jack Ezell officiating. Following cremation, a private committal service in Montana will be held at a later date.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Jo Thornhill of the Auburn community; two daughters, Laura Thornhill Bryson and husband, James, of Renton, Wash., and Stephanie Lynn Thornhill of Tupelo; two sons, Stephen Edward Thornhill and wife, Stephanie, of the Auburn community and Thomas Christopher Thornhill and wife, Laura, of Tupelo; one brother, Columbus Lafayette Thornhill, Jr. of Winter Haven, Fla.; and one grandchild, Alexzandra, Nicole Coggin.
