Saltillo- Edna Ruth Prather Warren, 83, died Saturday, June 24, 2023, at her home after an extended illness. She was born June 7, 1940, to Noel Prather and Tishie Thrasher Prather. Edna was a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse for Cedars Health Care Center for a number of years before she retired. She was a faithful member of New Prospect Primitive Baptist Church. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, vegetable canning, cooking, and fishing.
Edna leaves behind her two sons, Dennis K. Warren of Mantachie, and James D. Warren of Mooreville; grandchildren, Crimson Warren, Stoney Smith, Lexi Newman Warren (Hunter), Adam Warren, Jeffrey Warren, Forrest Warren, Jeremy Warren, Tyler Warren, Hunter Warren, B.J. Warren, and Jessica Warren; three sisters, Betty Foust, Lilly King (David), and Carolyn Walls; and one brother, Billy Prather.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, James H. Warren; parents, Noel and Tishie Prather; one sister, Era Francis; and four brothers, Wilburn, Leon, Clyde, and Jimmy Prather.
Graveside services will be 9 a.m. Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at Old Union Cemetery in the Macedonia Community with Elder Calvin Warren officiating. Pegues Funeral Directors has been entrusted with the arrangements.
