Edna Spain Tupelo - Edna Spain, 92, died Sunday, October 23, 2016, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a lengthy illness. She was born October 4, 1924, to Charlie and Mattie Harris and lived in Tupelo and the Lee County area most of her life. She married the love of her life Charles Spain and had two wonderful children with him. Edna worked for the City of Tupelo, Lee County and the State of Mississippi for many years. She enjoyed being with family, friends, working with flowers and attending Harrisburg Baptist Church. Services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday October 26, 2016 at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Bro. David Smith officiating. A graveside service will follow at Tupelo Memorial Park. Survivors include her daughter, Patti Harwood (Denis) of Nashville, Tennessee; son, Charlie Spain of Tupelo; granddaughter, Stephanie Meriweather (Ty); Grandson, Kevin Hall; great-granddaughter, Hanna Gordon Hill of Plantersville; great-grandson, Ben Meriweather IV of Tupelo; brother Charles Harris (Ann) of Campbellsville, Kentucky; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents. Visitation is 1 p.m. until service time Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.
