Edith Schultz Renfroe

October 10, 1926 — December 30, 2009

Tupelo - Edith Schultz Renfroe, 83, left the holds of earthly life Wednesday, December 30, 2009, at The Sanctuary Hospice House. She was born October 10, 1926 in Rankin County. She married Claude Powell Renfroe in 1946, and raised her family in Canton, Tupelo, and Clinton. She was a long time member of St. James Catholic Church in Tupelo and Holy Savior Catholic Church while in Clinton; faithful in spirit even after physically unable to attend. Our strong courageous mother has left many wonderful memories for us to enjoy, including her contagious smile. We will miss her more than words can describe, but rejoice in her passing. She will be remembered with deep love and appreciation.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. James Catholic Church with Father Tom Lalor officiating. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her children, Margaret Cockroft, Christine Wright and husband, Ronnie, Ann Cox, Lawrence Renfroe and wife, Connie, and Carl Renfroe and wife, Lisa. She also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great-grand children and great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers and sisters, beloved husband, Claude Powell Renfroe, and two sons, Pete and Henry Renfroe.

A Rosary Service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, January 1, 2010 at St. James Catholic Church with visitation following from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The Body will lie in state one hour prior to service time.
