Tupelo - Edith McDaniel, 76, died Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at The North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. A native of Itawamba County, she was born September 23, 1934, to Orlie and Edna Crocker Barber. A longtime resident of East Tupelo, she attended Priceville Baptist Church.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, June 23, 2011 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Dee Brown and Rev. Andy Dozier officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery.
Survivors include her nieces, Peggy Stults (Quay) of Saltillo, Janet Stacy (Larry) of Nettleton, Geraldine Holloway of Conway, Ark., Virginia Bowen of Quincy, Fla.; her nephew, James Phillips (June) of Saltillo; a special great-nephew, Bryson Stacy of Nettleton; a number of additional nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 25 years, Caleb McDaniel; a sister, Jo Ann Prosser, a brother, Ottis Barber; three half sisters, Ruby Phillips, LaVirne Roberts, and Bernice Prescott; two half brothers, Mackie and Quinn Cockrell.
Pallbearers will be Quay Stults, Gerald Adderholt, James Phillips, Frank Jones, Rusty Culver, and Kenneth Robinson.
