Edith Heflin

Tupelo- Edith Parham Heflin 73, died Thursday, March 18, 2010 at the Sanctuary Hospice House after a brief illness. An Auburn native, she was born August 11, 1936 to the late George Dewey and Irene Franks Parham. She was active in basketball before graduating from Mooreville High School in 1954. She was married to the late Robert Heflin in September of 1956. She had several jobs in the Tupelo and Hattiesburg areas as a bookkeeper and worked for Walmart in Tupelo for the past thirteen years. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.

Services will be 3:30p.m. Sunday at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with her grandsons, Jonathan Chaney and Allen Chaney officiating. Private burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.

She is survived by a daughter, Teresa Dunn and husband Bill of Munford, Tennessee; two grandsons, Alan Chaney of Nashville and Jonathan Chaney of Tupelo; a brother Dennis Parham and wife, Kathryn, of Tupelo; three sisters-in-law, Tootsie McVey of Baldwyn, Nancy TeNiny Grissom of Tupelo, and Waurene Heflin of Tupelo; and several nieces and nephews. Special caretakers were Jeanne Roberson and Susan Kahauolopua.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Robert Heflin, her parents, and her six brothers, Fred, Hoyt, Douglas, Bobby, Dan, and Guy.

Pallbearers will be Nicholas Roberson, Landon Roberson, Ian McVey, Shaun McVey, Colby McVey, and Rob Steele.

Honorary pallbearers will be her Walmart co-workers. .

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
