Eddie Garner
Tupelo- Edward Wesley Garner, 63, died Sunday, June 25, 2023 at North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. He was born November 14, 1959 to Charles Edward Garner and Helen Juanita Hutcheson in Tupelo. After Eddie’s high school graduation and some number of years in the workforce he earned a specialized certification in transmissions at a Tennessee trade school as well as his Mechanic degree from Itawamba Junior College. He was a dedicated and hardworking Mechanic specializing in transmissions. He has faithfully worked at the same shop location for 30 years, now owned and operated as The Mechanic Shop. He loved all things automobile, including building award-winning show trucks. He has many trophies he has won over the years for Best in Show from various competitions. Eddie was a member of East Heights Baptist Church.
Eddie is survived by his sister, Emily Garner of Tupelo; one brother, James Emory Garner and his wife, Beverly, of Jackson; and two uncles, Herbert Alan Garner and his wife, Deborah, and Wesley Earl Hutcheson, Jr. and his wife, Angela.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Edward Garner; and Helen Juanita Hutcheson Garner.
Visitation will be 1 p.m. until service time Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at Pegues, Tupelo.
Services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at the Jefferson Street Chapel of Pegues with Rev. Jay White officiating. Burial will follow at Verona City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tye McNatt, Randy Daniel, Gene Byars, Hermon Lansdell, and Rodney Box.
