Saltillo - Edward L. Buchanan, 63, died Friday, October 3, 2008, at The North Mississippi Medical Center after a sudden illness. He was born February 14, 1945, to Howard Leon and Lillie Keith Buchanan. He was raised in the Furrs Community and raised his family in Saltillo. He worked as a commercial electrician for Jesco Construction for many years. He was an avid fisherman and a member of Furrs Baptist Church.
Graveside Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Holcomb Family Cemetery (New Zion) in Pontotoc County with Rev. Tim Green officiating. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Buchanan Norwood and husband, Marty,of Starkville and Cindy Buchanan Yarbrough and husband, Brian, of Saltillo; one son, David Buchanan of Saltillo; one daughter-in-law, Fran Comer Buchanan of Sherman; five grandchildren, Lillie Yarbrough, Sam Buchanan, Mollie Yarbrough, Grace Buchanan, and Art Norwood; three first cousins, Billy Wayne Dillard, Jackie Parker, and Charlene Bishop, all of the Furrs Community.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Eddie Dee Buchanan.
Visitation will be 1 p.m. to service time Sunday at the graveside.
