EARLENE GRAY

Dorsey - Helen Earlene Gray, 77, died Monday, September 4, 2006, at The Sanctuary Hospice House after an extended illness. A Lee County native, she was born February 21, 1929 to the late Edgar and Lela Bell Wallace. She was a beloved mother and grandmother and loved spending time with her family. A member of Ballardsville Baptist Church,she loved her church and taught Sunday School for many years. She enjoyed growing flowers and was an avid reader. She will be remembered as one who always put the needs of others before her own.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ballardsville Baptist Church with Rev. Brian Isaac officiating. Burial will be in Keyes Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include two daughters, Janet Little and husband, Lowery, and Judy Spencer and husband, Wayne, all of Fulton; one son, John Allen Gray of Dorsey; four sisters, Maxine Francis, Alice Faulkner, Joann Stone, and Martha Nichols; one brother, Frank Wallace; four grandchildren, Amy Hargett, David Little, Allen Spencer and Merrie Spencer; and five great-grandchildren, Luke, Josh, Cassidy, Cooper, and Jack.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, George Gray; two granddaughters, Leesa Marie Gray and Melanie Ann Little; one brother, Billy Wallace; and an infant sister, Pauline Wallace.

Pallbearers will be Allen Spencer, David Little, Joey Hargett, Jack Chilcoat, Ricky Boyd, and Luke Hargett.

Visitation will be 12 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the church.
