Tupelo - Earl W. Repult, 67, died Saturday, October 17, 2009, at his and his daughters residence in Saltillo. He was born in Plantersville July 20, 1942, to William Earl and Ethel Mae Witt Repult. He was raised in East Tupelo and graduated from Tupelo High School. Afterwards, he immediately joined the United States Marine Corps. While serving in the Marines, 8th Marine, 2nd Marine Division, he participated in the ground defense of Guantanamo Bay, Cuba in 1962 while a member of the 1st Battalion under command of RLT 6. He received a Good Conduct Medal and a Rifle Sharpshooter Badge. He worked as a security guard a number of years and later as a police officer in Nettleton and Verona. He worked 8 years as manager of Babers Leasing before his retirement. He enjoyed fishing and most importantly he loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Dempsey Roland officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Plantersville Cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter, Marguerite "Margie" Repult Goddard of Saltillo; two grandchildren, Bradly and Taylor Goddard of Saltillo; two sisters, Penny Coleman (James) of Corinth, Brenda McCormick of Tupelo; one brother, Bobby Repult (Ann) of Mantachie
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Noelene Philpot; special uncle, Gerald Witt.
Pallbearers will be members of the Patriot Guard.
Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Monday, October 19, 2009 at the funeral home.
