Tupelo - Ronnie Crowson, 68, died Friday, May 28, 2010, at The North Mississippi Medical Center after a sudden illness. A Greenville native, he was born to Earl Ren and Jewel Armstrong Crowson. He attended Delta State University where he graduated with a Bachelors degree. He was a United States Army veteran, having served time in Korea. After 32 years of service, he retired as a field representative from Ford Motor Credit. He attended St. James Catholic Church. Spending time with his family and friends was what he loved to do and he especially loved his grandchildren. Fishing and cooking were his favorite past-times.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 31, 2010 at St. James Catholic Church with Father Tom Lalor and Father Henry Shelton officiating. Burial will be in Corinth National Cemetery with Military Honors. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Penny Crowson; two sons, Mike Crowson (Jenny) of Oxford, Kenneth Crowson of Tupelo; two sisters, Jane Reeves (Martin) of Ocean Springs, and Betty Hasbrouck ("Larry") of Ocean Springs; three grandchildren, Kirsten Crowson of Tupelo, Caden Crowson of Oxford and Calen Raye Crowson of Oxford.
He was preceded in death by his parents and infant son, Joseph Martin Crowson.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 30, 2010 at St. James Catholic Church and 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the church.
