DUDLEY T. MCCULLY

Saltillo - Dudley T. McCully, 93, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at The Meadows in Fulton after a short illness. A Lee County native, he was born June 23, 1920, to John Thomas and Minnie Lee Cowley McCully. He graduated from Saltillo High school in 1938. In 1966 he opened McCully?s Electric Service, Inc. and worked full time until his retirement in 1990. A United States 8th Army Air Force veteran, he enjoyed long walks in the woods, pointing out all the different plants and animal life he encountered and was an avid Gardener. He loved his family and cherished time spent with them. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Saltillo and a former Sunday school teacher.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, August 15, 2013, at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. John Stevens officiating. Burial will be in Fellowship Cemetery.

Survivors include two sons, Ron McCully (Sue) of the Fellowship Community and Dennis McCully (Pam) of Lebanon, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Matthew McCully (Jade) of Savannah, Georgia, Katherine McCully and Sean McCully both of Lebanon, Tennessee.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Opal Jackson McCully; his parents; ten brothers and sisters.

Honorary pallbearers will be Carl McKissick, Merle Baker, Jerry McKee, Jerry and Tommy Smith, his former employees of McCully?s Electric Service, Inc. and his nephews.

Visitation will be 5 - 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 14, 2013, at the funeral home and continued 9 a.m. Thursday till service time.
