Dru McDaniel

Tupelo- Drucilla “Dru” Laster McDaniel, 88, of Tupelo, MS, died Wednesday, April 25, 2018 after a short illness. She was born November 28, 1929 to Roy and Ernestine Laster of Alamo, Tennessee. She was reared in Alamo along with five brothers.
In 1957, she married Royce McDaniel and together they owned McDaniel Tile and Marble Company in Tupelo. Dru loved to help others and became an advocate for taking care of the body, mind and spirit. She was a leader in the Shaklee Corporation for over 40 years.
She is survived by her son, Michael Ryan McDaniel (Robin), Olive Branch; four grandchildren, who adored their “MawMaw”; Blair Nichole McDaniel, Ryan Lewis McDaniel, Michayla Grace McDaniel, and Matthew Blake McDaniel; three brothers Jerry Laster of Alamo; Gene Laster (Judy) of Bells, Tennessee; and, James “Jim” Laster (Teresa) of Charlotte, Tennessee; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and their children who all loved their Aunt Dru. Dru was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Royce McDaniel; and two brothers Ralph Laster of Fulton, Kentucky and Alfred Laster of Humboldt, Tennessee.
Visitation will be 5 until 7 p.m. Friday, April 27, 2018 at W.E. Pegues, Tupelo and 2 p.m. until service time April 28, 2018 at Ronk Funeral Home in Alamo.
Services honoring her life will be 3 p.m. Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Ronk Funeral Home in Alamo.
Pallbearers will be Michael McDaniel, Ryan McDaniel, Larry Laster, Brian Laster, Wil and Seth Permenter. Memorials may be made to Tupelo Children’s Mansion (TCM), P O Box 167, Tupelo, MS 38802.
