Doyle Lambert

February 7, 1946 — March 23, 2018

Mooreville - Meldon Doyle Lambert, 72, passed away Friday, March 23, 2018. He was born in Prentiss County February 7, 1946, to Claude Evans and Annie Mae Lambert and had lived in Mooreville for the last 45 years. Early in life, he served his country in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked as a laborer during construction of the Tenn Tom Water Way and had also worked at Penn Tire. Later in life, he had worked as a machinist at Tecumseh where he retired after 22 years and owned The Lollishop.



Doyle had a great interest in history and genealogy. He loved traveling and site-seeing and was especially drawn to destinations with a historical background. In his lifetime, he had traveled to 48 of the 50 states. Doyle was an avid football fan and his greatest joy was watching his grandchildren play sports. He loved Jesus and was often found reading his Bible.



Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Diane Lambert; two daughters, Julie Williams (Scott) and Liz Garner; five grandchildren, Jala, Jackson and Jacob Williams and Nigel and Roman Garner; four stepchildren, William Whitten, Linda Holland, Jennifer Hoffman and Jeff Thompson; a number of step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; three brothers, M.C., Roy, and Larry Lambert; and two sisters, Nila Noble and Bonita McVey.



He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister,  Eloise Hendrix; and his wife of 22 years, Mary Mason Lambert.



Visitation will be from 2 until service time Sunday, March 25, 2018 at W.E. Pegues, Tupelo.



Services will be 4 p.m. Sunday, March 25, 2018, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Rev. Rickey Pierce officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Church of God Cemetery in Prentiss County.



Pallbearers will be Nigel and Roman Garner, Jacob, Jackson and Scott Williams and Chase and Brent Thompson.
