FURRS - Doyce W. Carr King, 78, died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2008, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. A Tishomingo native, she was born Oct. 31, 1930, to Johnnie W. and Wanda Barnett Carr. She was the owner of King's Grocery in Palmetto and was a Baptist. She loved camping and the outdoors.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Jefferson Street Chapel with Rev. Wesley Stephens officiating. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery in Pontotoc. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Henry H. King Sr. of Furrs; one son, Henry H. King Jr. (Lisa) of Booneville; three grandchildren, Jonathan King of Tupelo, Amanda Odom of Chesterville, and Brittany King of Chesterville; one great-grandson, Hunter Odom of Chesterville; one sister, Judy Smith of New Orleans; three brothers, Billy Carr (Ruby) of Bissell, C.M. "Chunk" Carr (Lillie) of Chesterville and Johnnie Carr of Pontotoc.
