DOUG ROGERS Brewer - Doug Rogers, 58, passed away Sunday, October 28, 2012 at his home after an extended illness. He was born June 23, 1954, in Lepanto, Arkansas, to James T and Helen E. Shempert Rogers. Before his illness, he worked for Associated Trucking for 17 years. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed spending time with his dogs. He was a member of Brewer Baptist Church. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 31, 2012 in The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors with Bro. Joe Dye and Rev. Tim Tutor officiating. Burial will be in Brewer Methodist Cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Sandra Rogers of Brewer; four children, Ginger Vaughan (Daniel) of Shannon, Carey (Brandon Davies) of Baldwyn, Brandy Hester (Jimmy) of Baldwyn and Jason Hill of Yazoo City; two sisters Diane Dye (Joe) and Christie Rogers (Phil) both of Brewer; one brother, Mike Rogers (Roxanne) of Tupelo; nine grandchildren, Brandon, Paige, Taylor, Chance, Allie, Cassie, Josh, Hunter and Gage; Mother-in-law, Dorothy Dobbs of Baldwyn; special friends , Fred Lee and Allen Hartzog and James Matthews ; special nurses and friends, Stacy Wallace and Angie Schwalenburg; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and niece Misty Cox. Visitation will be 5 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at the funeral home.
