Dot Horrell

Saltillo- Dorothy Freida Dot Horrell, 69, died Saturday, March 6, 2010, at The North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. A Chicago native, she was born May 3, 1940 to Herman R. and Mildred L. Braun Geisler. She lived a good portion of her life in Lagrange, Indiana and was married to Eugene Richard Horrell who preceded her in death. She was a cashier with Jewel Foods in Lagrange where she retired with 30 plus years of service. She loved sewing and working on various crafts. She was an avid cook and while living in Lagrange, she catered numerous church functions and events. She was a member of First Church of God in Lagrange. With declining health, she moved to Saltillo to be near family.

Services will be 4 p.m. Friday, March 12, 2010 at The Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues.

Survivors include three sons, Robert Horrell (Carole) of Saltillo, David Horrell of Lexington, Georgia, Ronald Horrell of Lagrange, Indiana; one daughter, Debra Shaw (Ken) of Lagrange; a daughter-in-law, Cheryl Horrell of Lagrange; one brother, Edward Molenda; 19 grandchildren, Robert Horrell, Jr. (Lisa), Michael Horrell (Leah), Crystal Horrell, David Horrell, Erica Horrell, Gena Horrell, Cory Shaw, Amanda Shaw, Amber Shaw, Billy Horrell, Justin Horrell, Cassie Horrell, Brandon Horrell, Travis Horrell, Ashley Horrell, Josh Chism, Jennifer Chism, Stephanie Chism and Amanda Litzau; and ten great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, William Joseph Horrell.

Visitation will be 3 to 4 p.m. Friday at the funeral home in Saltillo.
