Dot Green

Dorothy May "Dot" Green, 85, died Sunday, February 24, 2019, at Sanctuary Hospice House after a lengthy illness. She was born and raised in Itawamba County, May 30, 1933, to John Henry and Madie Jewell Presley Hayes, but had lived in Tupelo most of her adult life. She was a long-time hairdresser in the Lee County/ Tupelo area and co-owner of Airways Beauty Salon. A loving mother and grandmother, her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She loved to travel and cook. She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her daughter, Cathy Reese and her husband, Joe of Tupelo; two sons, Stanley Green and his wife, Vickie of New Albany and Steven Green of Saltillo; seven grandchildren, April Windham and her husband, Shane of Saltillo, Jeremy Green and his wife, Keely of Mooreville, Patrick Green and his wife, Julie of Belden, Stanley Green, Jr. of New Albany, Joshua and Olivia Reese both of the University of Mississippi and Stewart Green, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Maggie Griggs, Spencer Windham and Mallory and Hendrix Green; sister, Laverne Kennedy of Fulton; three brothers, John "Junior", Ferrell and Leon Hayes all of Fulton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred Russell Green who died January 27, 2001; son, Stewart Green; great-grandson, Tyler Green; three sisters, Mary Heatherly, Pauline Altom and Faye Waddle; and brother, Bob Hayes.

Visitation will be from 5 until 9 p.m. Tuesday, February 26, 2019, at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.

A graveside service honoring her life will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Tupelo Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be her nephews.
