DOROTHY BEASLEY TATE

Tupelo- Dorothy Beasley Tate, 87, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 22, 2014, at the North Mississippi Medical Center, Hospice. She was born in Tupelo on March 22, 1926 to Reuben and Marie Beasley. She was a 1944 graduate of Sherman High School while there she was an All-State, All-Star basketball player. She lived the majority of her life in the Lee County area. She worked over forty years with Central Service Association. She loved her two dogs, Skippy and Suzy. She was a faithful member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in East Tupelo with over sixty years of perfect Sunday School attendance. A record previously held by her mother.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, January 25, 2014 at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Bro. Doug Jones and Bro. George Rogers officiating. A graveside service will follow at Tupelo Memorial Park. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her children, Jerry King (Cheryl) of Tupelo and Carolyn Allen of Tupelo; three grandchildren, Jerry King, Jr. (Kelly) of Guntown, Wesley Webb of Tupelo and Laura King of Tampa, Florida; four great-grandchildren; three brothers, Terry Beasley, Sr. (Larue) of Tupelo, Bobby Beasley (Dottie) of Tupelo and Larry Beasley (Anne) of Tupelo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bernell Tate; and one brother, Thomas Beasley.

Pallbearers will be Karl Beasley, Scott Beasley, Jerry King, Jr., Wesley Webb, Terry Beasley, Jr. and Jason Beasley.

Visitation will be 12 p.m. - 1 p.m. Saturday, January 25, 2014 at the funeral home.
