TUPELODorothy Nell Sanderson, 81, died Monday, December 26, 2005 at Traceway Retirement Village. A Prentiss County native, she was born September 28, 1924 to the late Clyde and Helen Stephens Armstrong. A graduate Rienzi High School and Draughn Business College, she worked in Social Services at North Mississippi Medical center. Mrs. Sanderson also served as a Youth Director for the city of Tupelo. An active member of St. Luke Methodist Church, she served as Nursery Director. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and the support she received from them.

Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors, with Rev. Mike Hicks officiating. Burial will be in the Booneville Cemetery.

Survivors include one son, Leroy Henderson, Jr. and wife, Mary, of Booneville; a son-in-law, David McMillan; four grandchildren, Tanya Moschetti and husband, Joe, of Loma, Colorado, Penelope Rish and husband, Bill, of Houston, MS, Jason McMillan of Atlanta, Amanda Kubat and husband, Warren, of Dawsonville, Georgia; three step-grandchildren, Betsy Glisson and husband, Bill, of Columbus, Georgia, Beverly Moore and husband, Richard, of Statesboro, Georgia, Becky Mansell and husband, Randy, of Tupelo; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Leroy Henderson, Sr. who died January 28, 1989 and her second husband, Arthur W. Sanderson who died June 16, 2001; one daughter Janet McMillan.

Pallbearers will be John Harris, Cliff Pickens, John Mobley, William (Bill) Wood, M.D., Johnny Brownlee, and Jim Langston.

Memorials can be made to St. Luke United Methodist Church or Hospice.

Visitation will be 5 until 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Jefferson Street Chapel.
