Dorothy " Dot " Leech

TUPELO " Dorothy H. Dot Leech, 74, died Saturday, June 20, 2009, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born Aug. 30, 1934, in Baldwyn to the late Kirby and Myrtle Miller Hill. She was a longtime resident of Tupelo and was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was a medical transcriptionist for over 30 years at the North Mississippi Medical Center. She loved spending time with her family and her dog Heidi.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors with Rev. Jim Oberkircher and Rev. David Elridge officiating. Burial will be in the Pratts Cemetery near Baldwyn.

Survivors include her husband Joe Leech of Tupelo, whom she married March 31, 1969; one daughter, Debby Morgan Garrison (Jim) of the Auburn Community; one son, Mike Bishop (Sandra) of Pratts; two stepdaughters, Jo Ruth West (Mark) of Melber, Ky. and Sheila Oberkircher (Jim) of Houston, Texas; two stepsons, Larry Leech (Deborah) of Mayfield, Ky., and Craig Leech of Houston; one brother, Jerry D. Hill (Cathy) of Baldwyn; one sister, Mauveline Minor; four grandchildren, Carey Morgan (Kayla) and Eric Morgan, both of Plantersville and Becky Bishop and Kayliegh Bishop, both of Baldwyn; one great-grandson, John Marlin Morgan of the home; five step grandchildren; and three step great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother-in-law, Carey Minor; one son-in-law, Freddie Morgan; and one great-grandson, Charlie Morgan.
Pallbearers will be Carey Morgan, Eric Morgan, John Oberkircher, Walker Garrison, Shawn Hutcheson and Andrew Shelton.
