Jackson, formerly of Tupelo- Dorothy Jean Sheffield Culver, 86, passed away Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Compere's Nursing Home in Jackson. A native of Itawamba County, she was born on October 5, 1932 to Willie Owen and Mandy Holland Sheffield. She was a resident of Tupelo for most of her life, but has called Jackson home for the last three years. On August 12, 1950, she married Guy Culver and they shared 31 wonderful years together until his death in 1981.

They later served together in Associational Missions at the Union and Prentiss County Baptist Associations until his death. She later retired as a seamstress from Reed Manufacturing Company in Tupelo after a 15 year career.
She enjoyed cooking and her role as homemaker to her family, but most of all she loved using her gifts to serve others. She lived a simple life and it brought her joy to do things for others and to form warm and loving relationships with those with whom she came in contact.
