Tupelo - Doris Elaine Romito, 80, died Saturday, November 20, 2010, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in New Albany after an extended illness. A native of Arkansas, she was born April 13, 1930 to Cecil and Maggie Cox Priest. She enjoyed working in her rose, azeala, and other flower gardens. Also, she was an outstanding Italian cook and loved to read. She was a Baptist by faith.
Private Graveside services 11:00 a.m. Monday at Corinth National Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include one brother, Buddy Priest (Betty) of Blue Springs; one sister, Linda Paden (Elkin) of Pontotoc; her caregivers, niece Sandra Russell and husband Sid of Pontotoc; several other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Vincent Romito; two brothers, Frank Priest, and Jimmy Priest; one sister, Margaret Priest.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of givers choice.
