Belden - Doris Faye Lackey Hudspeth, 81, died Friday, July 2, 2010, at her residence after an extended illness. She was born December 24, 1928 to Jessie James and Eula Mae Morrison Lackey. For many years, she worked for Berl Olswanger Music Store in Memphis as a bookkeeper. She was the last member of her immediate family. For the last 24 years, she lived in the Belden Community, where she loved working in her yard, her flowers, and gardening. She was the hub of her entire family gatherings, especially at Christmas and Thanksgiving. She was a member of Belden Baptist Church.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Jim Holcomb officiating. Burial will be in Belden Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband of 39 years, Emmit R. Hudspeth of Belden; one son Robert E. Ellison of the home; one daughter, Venica Harmon (Edward R.) of Destin, Florida; One granddaughter Lisa S. Burson (Rick) of Panama City, Florida; one grandson Jonathan Harmon (Genean) of Las Vegas, Nevada; four great-grandchildren, Matthew and Riley Burson of Panama City, Florida; Rachel and Peter Harmon of Las Vegas, Nevada.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings.
Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until service time Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at the funeral home.
