Tupelo - Dora Ramirez, 44, died Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at Community Hospice at Darlington Oaks in Verona after an extended illness. She was born January 6, 1964, in Aguila Valle, Columbia, South America to Jaime and Maria Belarmina Cardona Ramirez. After growing up in Columbia she moved to California where she lived several years before coming to Tupelo three years ago. She enjoyed sewing, decorating, and was known for her wonderful cooking. She was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Services will be 3:30 p.m. Thursday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Bishop Nels Thorderson officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park.
Survivors include two daughters, Daisy Rios and husband, Abraham, of Milan, Tenn. and Sarah Nicole Macias of Tupelo; one son, Jorge (George) Granada and wife, Amber of New Albany; four sisters, Mariela Ramirez, Luzdary Ramirez, Lucidia Ramirez, and Adiela Ramirez; four brothers, Guillermo Ramirez, Fernando Ramirez, Alonzo Ramirez, and Jaime Ramirez, all of Columbia; one granddaughter, Emily Rios of Milan, Tenn.; her mother, Maria Belarmina Cardona Ramirez of Columbia.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jaime Ramirez.
Pallbearers will be Abraham Rios, Ricky Martinez, Omar Martinez, and Buck Boatner.
