Donnie Peterson Donald "Donnie" Ray Peterson, 58, passed away on February 25, 2015 at North Mississippi Medical Center after battle with cancer. He was born on January 6, 1957 at the old Baldwyn Hospital to Charles Curtis Peterson and Geneva Harper Peterson. He graduated from Tupelo High School in 1975. He worked in retail sales as a salesperson for the majority of his life. He was a Baptist. While his daughter was in school, he was very active in all school functions. He served as president of the PTO in several of his daughter's schools and was awarded "Parent of the Year" multiple times. He was a big supporter of the TPSD and the THS Band. He was also an avid animal lover. Services will be held at W. E. Pegues on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. Visitation will be held at W. E. Pegues on Saturday, February 28, 2015 from 4:30 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Donnie is survived by his wife of 21 years, whom he married in 1993, Verute "Rudie" Peterson of Siegelbach, Germany; one daughter, Allison "Allie" Peterson of Tupelo; a step-daughter, Mindy Mitchell of Washington, DC; one brother, James "Jimmy" Peterson of Saltillo; one sister, Kathy Peterson of Tupelo; one sister-in-law, Ann Peterson of Villa Rica, GA; one niece, Teri (DJ) Donaldson of Villa Rica, GA; a great neice, Grace Donaldson of Villa Rica, GA; and a great nephew, Jack Donaldson of Villa Rica, GA. He is also survived by numerous family members on his wife's side. He was preceeded in death by his parents; one daughter, Jessica Megan Peterson; one step-daughter, Mica Mitchell; and one brother, Charles Wayne Peterson. Pallbearers will be Robert Frick, Chris Brown, Zachary Adams, Austin Chapman, Darius Fant and Matthew Maharrey.
