DONALD WARD
Tupelo - Donald John Ward, 89, died Wednesday, January 17, 2007, at The Sanctuary Hospice House after an extended illness. A Hartland, MN native, he was born February 16, 1917 to the late Leonidas and Sareh Driscoll Ward. He was a US Army veteran serving in World War II. He was an insurance adjuster retiring after many years of service to Firemans Fund. He enjoyed playing golf and playing with his puppy, "Tina. He was a member of West Jackson Street Baptist Church.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, January 18, 2007 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Bert Harper, Rev. Don Trammel, and Dr. Forrest Sheffield officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Zenoba Collins Ward of Tupelo; one special nephew, Jim Collins and wife, Carolyn, of Bruce; one great-niece, Amanda Vanlandingham and husband, Jay,of Vardaman; a brother-in-law, J.C. Collins of Bruce.
The Senior Adult Sunday School Class of West Jackson Street Baptist Church will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
Visitation will continue Thursday until service time at the funeral home.
