Don Melton

DON MELTON Mooreville - Don Melton "Mr. Z Man", 55, passed away Sunday, August 11, 2013, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. He was born January 31, 1958, in Tupelo and has been a long time resident of The Mooreville Community. On March 28, 1987, he married his wife of 26 years, Betty Tackett Melton. A very loving husband, father and grandfather, Don enjoyed camping, fishing, truck driving and racing of any kind. He was a member of Skyline Baptist Church. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 14, 2013, at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Bro. Caster Buse officiating. Burial will be in Crossroads Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Betty Tackett Melton of Mooreville; two sons, Allen Melton and Justin Melton (Danielle) all of Mooreville; three grandchildren, Jordan, Lulu and Ben Melton; two brothers, Riley Melton (Faye) of The Ratliff Community and Jimmy Dale Melton of Florida; one sister-in-law, Diane Helms (Rex) of Tupelo; one brother-in-law, Bobby Tackett (Beverly) of Tupelo; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Pallbearers will be his nephews. Visitation will be 5 - 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at the funeral home.
