DOMINICA FERM
Okolona - Dominica Ferm, 100, died Monday, July 17, 2006, at Shearer-Richardson Nursing Home in Okolona. A Negaunee, MI native, she was born July 21, 1905 to the late John and Catherine Bagiuri Gaviglio. She grew up in Negaunee and moved to Chicago, Ill. where she married the love of her life, George Ferm in 1926. They raised their family there and returned to their native home to retire. She moved to Mississippi in 1988 to live with her daughter and son-in-law. She was a beautiful and loving wife and mother who will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was a Communicant of St. James Catholic Church.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. James Catholic Church with Father Henry Shelton officiating. Burial will be in Negaunee Cemetery in Michigan. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include two daughters, Angela Tomaso and husband, Bud Tomaso, of Van Vleet, and Connie Caccamo and husband, Ron Caccamo, of Huntley, Il.; a son, David Ferm and wife, Molly, of Jupiter, Fla; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Jackie, in 1944; her husband, George Ferm in 1975; a sister, Mary Guizzetti; and two brothers, Dominic and Peter Gaviglio.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons.
Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the church with a vigil for the deceased at 8 p.m.
