DESTINY MCCORD

Tupelo - Destiny Montana McCord, 13, died, alongside her mother, at their residence on Sunday, March 25, 2013. She was born September 10, 1999 to Anthony Lee McCord, III and Danica Gifford McCord. A teenager, she loved hanging out with friends and spending time with her family at the lake. She was an honor student at Guntown Middle School where she loved playing basketball and was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She accepted Christ as her Savior on January 3, 2011 at Center Hill Baptist Church.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, March 30, 2013, at The Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Rev. Brandon Murphree and Rev. Scott Witcher officiating. Burial will be in Center Hill Cemetery.

Survivors include her four sisters, Mindy Lafayette (Toby) of Hernando, Brittany Scott (Mike) of Saltillo, Kayla Bass (Keith) of Saltillo and Nikki McCord of Pontotoc; niece and nephews, Cadence, Levi, Grayson, Griffin and Luke; three aunts, Sheila Sanders (Tim), Daphne Parmely and DeAnn Richey (Kevin); two uncles, Clay and Craig Gifford; maternal grandparents, Virginia and John Gifford; paternal grandmother, Charlotte McCord and a host of cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, Anthony McCord, III and her paternal grandfather, Anthony McCord, Jr.

Pallbearers will be Chris, Justin, Tyler and Kyle Gifford, Haygen Richey and Logan Parrish.

Visitation will be 2 - 8 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2013 at the Saltillo Funeral Home.
