Delores Blaylock

Tupelo - Delores Wingo Blaylock, 86, died Sunday, February 13, 2011, at The North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. She was born February 9, 1925 in Jasper, Tex. but lived all of her adult life in the Tupelo area. She worked for Blaylock Electric Motor Shop as a technician and later for the Green Street School in the Kitchen and as a bus driver. She loved people, and will be remembered for her beautiful smile. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking and had a remarkably strong faith in God. She was Pentecostal.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Steve Blaylock officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park.

Survivors include two sons, Jimmy Blaylock (Patty) of Tupelo and Floyd Blaylock (Terry) of Tupelo; one daughter, Barbara Kaulfold (Harry) of Galveston, Tex.; 11 grandchildren, Tia, Jay, Melinda, Brandy, Cassie, Nathan, Doug, Harry, Kathy, Kim, Phillip; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson; two sisters, Eloise and Louise, both of Texas; her caregivers at the Coen Green House.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 51 years, Owen Blaylock; her daughter, Betty; a granddaughter, Sarah; four brothers and one sister.

Pallbearers will be Doug Merchant, Chris Merchant, Bradley Merchant, Wayne Blaylock, Keith Clark, and David Wilson.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
