Tupelo - Dell Ewing, 96, died Sunday, February 6, 2011, at the Green Houses At Traceway. She grew up in the Palmetto Community. She married Edward Ewing in 1937 and they made their home in several different states. During her earlier years, she entertained and traveled extensively. After his retirement, they returned to Tupelo, She was a staunch member of First Baptist Church until her health failed her.
Services will be 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Roger Smith officiating. Burial will be in Palmetto Cemetery.
Survivors include her two brother-in-laws, Bryant Ewing (Terry) of Belden and Claude Ewing (Darlene) of Ripley; her sister-in-law and caregiver, Lola Sheets of Belden; one nephew, Mike Stone.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Ewing; her parents; two sisters.
Pallbearers will be her nephews.
Visitation will be 11:30 a.m. until service time Wednesday, at the funeral home.
