Debra Hester

Tupelo - Debra S. Debby Hester, 54, died Monday, June 27, 2011, at The North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. She was born in Shannon on February 27, 1957, to Harold Gurvis Junior Hester and Betty Jean McNeese Hester. She worked at The North Mississippi Medical Center for 21 years. After retiring from the hospital, she worked three years as a medical biller with Professional Accounts Management. In her earlier years, she had also worked with The Tupelo Blood Bank, Ballard Clinic, and the Pediatric Clinic. She was a long-time active member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. She enjoyed bonco and spending time with her family, friends and her dogs. She enjoyed reading and writing poems.

Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, June 30, 2011 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues. Burial will be in the Auburn Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include one son, Jesse Holladay; her mother, Betty Jean McNeese Hester; one sister, Peggy Hester Pounders, all of the Auburn Community; two brothers, Joe and Randy Hester both of Saltillo.

She was preceded in death by her father and her sister, Betty Adele Heckman.

Pallbearers will be Jesse Holladay, Wesley Slay, Mason Slay, Nick Slay, Sam Slay, Tyler Leslie and Charles Siddall.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
