Deborah "Debbie" Ann Shutiok
Tupelo - Deborah “Debbie” Ann Shutiok, born February 5, 1960 in Ravenna, Ohio died September 7, 2017 at her home in Tupelo.
Debbie was a retired/disabled RN. She worked in various areas of care during her career but loved caring for the very old and very young the best.
Marching to her own drum and playing by her own rules, when Debbie loved she loved with her whole heart. She had numerous hobbies from stain glass to photography but her passion was the rescue and care for animals, especially dogs. She has fostered and adopted many over the years.
Debbie was Baptized as a Russian Orthodox in Ohio, was raised and confirmed as an Episcopalian at All Saints in Tupelo and has recently returned to the Orthodox Church at St. Paul’s in Tupelo.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, her father, Donald Shutiok, her ex-husband and friend, Bill Towery.
She is survived by her mother, Frances Shutiok, three sisters, Deanna Alford(Tony) of Tupelo, Donna Timmons (Phil) of Tupelo, Denise Medders (Ed) of White Oak, Texas, two nieces and seven nephews and numerous friends.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 10 at 1 p.m. in the parish hall of All Saint’s Episcopal Church, service will follow in the church at 3 p.m.
