Ollie Dean Nickels passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at Diversicare in Ripley. She was 86 years old. Born August 12, 1936 in Columbus, she was the daughter of Timothy and Vinie Britt. Dean was primarily a homemaker and loved taking care of her family. She was a member of Ellistown Baptist Church. She enjoyed being outdoors and spent many days camping and fishing. She also liked to attend auctions and yard sales.
Dean is survived by her son, Marvin Nickels of Tupelo; two step-sons, Mark and Bobby Nickels; four grandchildren, Carly Nickels, Katie Nickels, Lacey Connors and husband, Beau, and Caleb Nickels; three step-grandchildren, Marissa McDonald, Bryant Nickels, and Trent Nickels; and her sister, Debbie Hall and her husband Charles Ray.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, D.C. Nickels, and her daughter, Anita Darlene Fore.
Services honoring Dean’s memory will be 11 a.m. Monday, October 17, 2022 at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Rev. Randy Clark officiating. Joel Ewin will deliver a eulogy. Burial will follow in Ellistown Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time Monday at W.E. Pegues, Tupelo.
Pallbearers will be Carl White, Kyle White, Brandon Sims, Bryan Hallmark, Justin Harris and Brad Samples.
