Saltillo David E. Woody Wood, 51, died Thursday, May 19, 2011, at The Sanctuary Hospice House after an extended illness. He was born December 10, 1959, in Chicago, Il. and lived in Saltillo the past 25 years. He worked as a roofer and enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He was a member of Saltillo First United Methodist Church.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday at The Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Rev. Tim Green officiating. Burial will be in Unity Cemetery.
Survivors include five sons, Michael Wood, Bradley Wood, Jeffery Wood all of Lepeer, Michigan, Brandon Lyons of Saltillo, Cody Wood of Mooreville; three daughters, Chrissy Wood of Lepper, Michigan, Brittany Wilis of Saltillo, Kate Lynn Wood of Tupelo; his parents, Mary and James Lyons of Saltillo; two sisters, Debra Tackett of Lepeer, Michigan and Cynthia Dunlap of Tupelo; eleven grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Mallett, Josh Mallett, Justin Mallett, Terry Hallmark, James Willis and Carl Fleming.
Visitation will be 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the Saltillo Funeral Home.
