Greenwood David Nichols, 59, died October 09, 2010, in Greenwood after a short illness. Mr. Nichols was born in Columbus, Ga. September, 29, 1951, to Loyd Thomas Nichols, and Mrs. Gladys Mae Cox Nichols. He was formerly of Tupelo, where he lived and worked until he moved to Greenwood several years ago. He loved fishing and spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the Baptist church.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at The Jefferson Street Chapel, of W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors, with Rev. Jerry Hooper, officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, in Thaxton.
Surviving relatives include, one brother, Tommy Nichols, and his wife, Carolyn, of Thaxton; three nephews, Matt Nichols of Olive Branch, Norman Nichols, and Tim Nichols, both of Thaxton; three great nephews, and two great nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers will be Matt Nichols, Norman Nichols, Tim Nichols, Jerry Coleman, Jimmy Matkins, and Dorman Matkins.
Visitation will be Monday evening, from 5 to 8 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
