DAVID B. CARR
Saltillo - David B. Carr, 64, died Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. A life-long resident of Saltillo, he was born September 5, 1948, to Joseph F. and Frances Cecilia Gusmus Carr. A people person, he enjoyed talking and visiting with people. For many years, he owned and operated with his brother a barber shop in Saltillo. He enjoyed cars and worked twenty-six years as a car salesman for George Ruff and later for Frankie-Blackman. He also loved guns and after retirement ten years ago, he founded and operated Carr?s Guns and Ammo in Saltillo. A family man, he enjoyed precious moments spent with his grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 p.m. Monday, April 1, 2013 at the St. James Catholic Church with Father Lincoln Dall officiating. Burial will be in McNeil Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in care of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of thirty-seven years, Cindy Stanford Carr of Saltillo; his daughters, Cecilia Gardner (Richie) of Saltillo and Susan Carr (Timothy) of Alabama; two grandchildren, Lillie and Micah; and his brother, Judge Pat Carr (Josie).
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Judy Dillard.
Pallbearers will be Don Bennett, Dennis Taylor, Danny Copeland, Mike Robinson, Andy Gusmus, Brian Carr and Shane Carr.
Honorary pallbearer will be Dr. Jay White.
Visitation will be 2 - 7 p.m. Sunday, March 31, 2013 at the Saltillo Funeral Home.
