Tupelo- Richard Darrell Kelly, 76, died Saturday, July 09, 2016, at the Sanctuary Hospice House. He was born November 29, 1939, to Daniel Pierce Kelly and Lillie Mae Edwards Kelly in Lee County, Mississippi. In 1962, Darrell served his country in the United States Air Force until 1966. He was an avid collector who loved the outdoors. He enjoyed watching sports, especially watching his grandchildren's ballgames. A man of strong faith, he was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church in Tupelo.
Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2016, at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.
Services will be 12 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Rev. Robert Garland officiating. Graveside services with Military Honors will follow at Tupelo Memorial Park.
He is survived by two daughters, Kim Kelly of Tupelo and Christi Shields (Jimmy) of Tupelo; two sons, Michael Kelly (Ann Tonia) of Tupelo and Jeff Kelly (Lacey) of Booneville; five grandchildren, Josh, Kelly, Joey, James and Hope; one sister, Dorothy Annette Blount (Billy) of Jacksonville, Alabama.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Brenda K. Kelly and one granddaughter, Lauren Kelly.
