Danny Scruggs

DANNY SCRUGGS Saltillo - James Daniel "Danny" Scruggs, 68, passed away Friday, April 25, 2014, at his home. He was born in Tupelo on July 21, 1945, to Tommy and Pauline Barnes Scruggs. After graduating from Saltillo High School, he went on to serve in the United States Army. For several years, he was employed with different furniture companies, working in the shipping and cutting departments. He retired from Independent Furniture. His interests includes fishing and cooking and was especially known as a "mean" catfish chef. He was a member of East Main Church of Christ. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Sunday, April 27, 2014, at the Beech Springs Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Martha Avery Scruggs of Saltillo; one daughter, Jennifer Michelle Scruggs of the home; two brothers, Terry Scruggs (Penny) of Madison, Alabama and Kyle Scruggs of Saltillo; his niece, Sarah Wallace; his nephew,Thomas Scruggs; and great-niece, Aubrie Bynum. He was preceded in death by his parents.
