Danny Putt

Saltillo - Danny Hale Putt, 64, died Sunday, November 1, 2009, at his home after an extended illness. A Baldwyn native and longtime Saltillo resident, he was born June 3, 1945, to George Washington and Mary Elizabeth Harville Putt. He was a graduate of Saltillo High School and the owner of Danny Putt Construction Company. He was a six year U.S. Army Veteran and served 32 years with the Nation Guard 155th Division from which he was activated to Desert Storm during the Pursian Gulf War. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family. He was a member of Mayfield Church of Christ. He was a loving husband and father and will most definitely be missed.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at The Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Bro. Adam Miller, Bro. Clyde Neaves and Bro. Mike Stanford officiating. Burial will be in Mayfield Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Joyce Williams Putt of Saltillo; a daughter, Melissa Holder of Pontotoc; four sons, Danny W. Putt of Fairbanks, Alaska, Lanny A. Putt of Saltillo, James E. Mayo (Stacy) of Jonesboro, Ark., and Robert D. Hare of Saltillo; two sisters, Mary Edith Sandlin of Saltillo and Shirley Kelly (Steve) of Tupelo; 14 grandchildren, Stephanie Watson (Chris) of Baldwyn, James Anthony Holder of Sherman, Andrew Simmons of Fairbanks, Alaska, Jessica Simmons of Fairbanks, Marcus Alan Putt, Michelle Leigh Putt, Emily Paige Putt, all of Saltillo, Alisha Noble of Ellisville, Kayla Mae Noble of Verona, Jacob Ray Mayo and Malery Shae Mayo, both of Jonesboro, Ark, Jeffery Ray Mayo of Saltillo, Haley Brooke Hare and Megan Elizabeth Hare, both of Dorsey; trwo great-grandchildren, Zachary Watson and Laken Sheffield.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, George Wesley Putt and one sister, Betty Marie Hedge.
Pallbearers will be Jason Kelly, Dale Kelly, Jeremy Foster, Marcus Putt, James Holder, and Chris Stacks.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Bill Williams, Pat Carr, Gerald Adderholt, David Buchanan, and Tim Stacks.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Saltillo Chapel.
